NeuroFunction ADHD Skills Training · For Kids & Teens · 12-Week Program

    Your child's brain works
    differently.
    Let's work with it.

A warm, personalized ADHD skills program built around the way your child’s brain actually works.

Most ADHD support stops at a prescription or a punishment. NeuroFunction goes further, pairing clinical care with a structured, 12-week skills program that teaches your child real, practical tools for focus, organization, and big feelings, with you involved every step of the way.

    Built around your child
"It is not only about discovering what your child struggles with, but why it shows up, and exactly what to do about it."
A Word for the Parent Who Is Tired

You are not failing your child.
The guilt was never yours to carry.

If you have read every book, tried every chart, and still lie awake wondering what you are doing wrong, please hear this: ADHD is neurodevelopmental. It is not a product of your parenting, your discipline, or your love.

The exhaustion and the second-guessing come from trying to parent a differently-wired brain with tools built for a different one. When the approach finally fits how your child's brain actually works, much of the daily friction eases, for your child, and for you.

Your child isn't broken. And neither are you.
    About the Program

Whole-child ADHD care that doesn't stop at the prescription

ADHD is not a focus problem. It is a full-spectrum neurodevelopmental difference affecting memory, attention, emotional regulation, and executive function, the skills a child needs to navigate school and home. Medication can help the neurochemistry. NeuroFunction builds the skills.

Every child's program is anchored to who they actually are, not generic ADHD advice, but strategies designed around the specific areas where your child's brain works differently. And because parents are part of the work, you learn the tools alongside your child.

Over 12 weeks, your child builds a complete toolkit: real, age-appropriate systems for getting started, staying organized, managing transitions, and handling big feelings. By the time we're done, your child understands their own brain, and feels capable, in a way most kids with ADHD never get the chance to.

This is for the parent who is tired of watching their child struggle. Your child isn't broken. They just need the right tools, and so do you.

    What makes this different

    NeuroFunction vs. Generic ADHD Advice
Built around your child's specific strengths and challenges, not one-size-fits-all content
Clinician-led by Dr. Joanne, not an app, not a worksheet packet
Three check-in points to track your child's measurable progress
Addresses the whole child, attention, memory, executive function, emotional regulation, and confidence
Works alongside your child's existing care and medication, if any, for a complete approach
Parents are coached alongside, so the skills carry into everyday home life
    Getting started

We begin with a consultation to understand your child and whether the program is the right fit. A confirmed ADHD diagnosis or current evaluation is needed before the program begins, and we'll help you find the right next step if you're not there yet.

A Shift in How You See It

What you're seeing isn't the whole story.

So much of the frustration at home comes from reading ADHD behavior as a choice. Underneath almost every hard moment is a skill that hasn't been built yet, not defiance, not laziness.

    What it looks like
    What's really happening
"He's lazy, he just won't start his homework."
Task initiation is a real executive-function hurdle. The wall is getting started, not willingness.
"She melts down over the smallest things."
ADHD affects emotional regulation. The feeling is real and big, and the skill to ride it can be taught.
"He's so smart, he's just not trying."
Ability and output are different things. The gap is inconsistent access to skills, not effort.
"She never listens or follows directions."
Working memory drops multi-step instructions. It isn't defiance; the steps genuinely slip away.
"He falls apart whenever plans change."
Cognitive flexibility and transitions are hard for ADHD brains. Shifting gears is a skill we build.
Is This Right for Your Child?

Built for families ready for real change.

NeuroFunction is designed for children and teens who are ready to move beyond a diagnosis and into practical skills, with a parent right beside them.

    The newly diagnosed child

You have a diagnosis and a lot of questions. You want to understand what it means day to day, and what to do about it beyond medication alone.

    The child in homework battles

Evenings have become a struggle over assignments, focus, and frustration. You need tools that ease the friction for everyone in the house.

    The big-feelings kid

Emotions arrive fast and big, and transitions are hard. You want your child to build real regulation skills, not just be told to calm down.

    The bright but stuck student

Teachers see the potential; the output is inconsistent. You want strategies that match how your child's brain actually works.

    The teen finding independence

Your teenager needs to own their own systems for school and life. You want them supported, not steered, as they build self-advocacy.

The family who's tried it all

You've read the books, tried the charts and the apps. You're ready for a structured, clinician-led approach built around your child.

    What We Help With

Real skills. Your child. Lasting strategies.

NeuroFunction targets the everyday skills an ADHD brain finds hardest, the ones school and home quietly assume a child already has. Each week is tailored to your child's age, stage, and strengths.

    Right for Your Child's Age

Built differently for children and teens.

A nine-year-old and a fifteen-year-old need very different things. The program meets your child where they are, in language, pace, and how much you're involved.

    Children
    Ages 8 to 12

Playful, concrete, and confidence-building. Younger children learn through hands-on strategies, visuals, and plenty of encouragement.

    • Skills taught through games, stories, and simple routines
    • Parents closely involved to carry tools into daily life
    • Focus on getting started, transitions, and big feelings
    • Lots of celebration of small wins to build confidence
    Teens
    Ages 13 to 17

More independence and ownership. Teens build executive-function and self-advocacy skills that matter for school, friendships, and the years ahead.

    • Strategies for homework, deadlines, and digital distraction
    • Parents shift from steering to supporting
    • Focus on self-advocacy, identity, and independence
    • Respectful, collaborative tone that meets teens as partners
    Program Structure

    Three phases.
    Twelve weeks.
    One personalized toolkit.

Each phase builds on the last, starting with understanding and foundational skills, moving into executive-function and emotional tools, and finishing with real-world confidence at school and home. Parents are part of every phase.

    I
    Foundation
    Weeks 1 - 4

We begin with understanding. Your child learns how their own brain works, in a way that builds confidence instead of shame, and we set meaningful goals together. We establish the foundational skills, attention, memory, and getting started, that make every later strategy work better. Parents learn the why alongside their child.

    WK 2Attention & Getting Started
    WK 3Staying With It
    WK 4Remembering What Matters
    II
    Skills & Self-Regulation
    Weeks 5 - 8

This is where we build the scaffolding an ADHD brain needs. Your child develops concrete tools for planning, getting organized, managing transitions, and handling big feelings without meltdowns. A check-in at Week 6 lets us see real progress and adjust.

    WK 5Planning & Getting Organized
    WK 6Big Feelings & Flexibility
WK 7Movement & the Senses as Allies
    WK 8Putting Skills Together
    III
    School, Home & Identity
    Weeks 9 - 12

Everything your child has built now gets applied to what matters most: school, home, friendships, and how they see themselves. We gently address ADHD identity and shame, build self-advocacy, and create a plan for the hard days. Your child graduates with a complete toolkit, and a stronger sense of self, that is theirs to keep.

    How to Get Started

    Your family's path to NeuroFunction

Four straightforward steps from where you are now to a child who finally has the tools they need, and a calmer home.

    1
    Step
    Start Here

    Book a Consultation

We begin with a conversation about what you're seeing, your child's strengths and struggles, and your hopes. Together we decide whether NeuroFunction is the right fit. A confirmed ADHD diagnosis or current evaluation is needed before the program itself begins, and we'll guide you to the right next step if your child hasn't been evaluated yet.

    2
    Step
    Intake

    Complete Your Family Intake

Before the first session, you'll share your child's history, strengths, and the specific concerns at home and school, along with a few simple baseline questionnaires appropriate for your child's age. These give us a clear starting point, and a way to measure real progress at the midpoint and the end.

    3
    Step
    12 Weeks

    Weekly Sessions & Everyday Practice

Each week, your child meets virtually with Dr. Joanne for a focused, age-appropriate session, with parent involvement built in. Between sessions, your child practices the new skill in small, daily doses using their workbook, and you help carry it into real life. The sessions teach; the daily practice makes it stick.

    4
    Step
    Graduation & Beyond

    Graduate with a Complete Toolkit

At Week 12, we check in on progress, celebrate how far your child has come, and compile their complete toolkit, every strategy and system from 12 weeks of work, ready for school and home. Booster sessions at 1, 3, and 6 months help the progress hold.

    You're Part of the Work

We don't just treat your child.
    We partner with you.

The most lasting change happens when a parent is coached alongside the child. You are not handing your child off, you are learning the tools right beside them.

    01

    You learn the why

We help you understand how your child's brain actually works, so the behavior finally makes sense and the friction starts to ease.

    02

    You get the same tools

Every skill your child learns, you learn too, so you can support it at home without nagging, bribing, or melting down yourself.

    03

    You put down the guilt

We actively work to lift the blame so many parents carry, because a calmer, more confident parent is the best support a child can have.

    04

    You see real progress

Simple check-ins and shared milestones make your child's growth visible, so you know the work is taking hold, not just hope it is.

Every part of the program works together, clinician-led sessions, child-friendly materials, progress tracking, and real parent support, in one comprehensive package.

    Questions Parents Ask

    The things you're wondering.

Does my child need an ADHD diagnosis first?

Yes. This program is skills training for children and teens with a confirmed ADHD diagnosis or a current evaluation. We begin with a consultation, and if your child has not yet been evaluated, we will help you understand the right next step before the program begins. The program is not a substitute for a diagnostic evaluation.

Do I sit in on the sessions?

Parent involvement is built into the program, though how much you are in the room depends on your child's age. With younger children, you are closely involved so the skills carry into daily life. With teens, we balance their growing independence with parent coaching alongside, so you are supported without taking over.

How is this different from a therapist or a tutor?

A tutor helps with schoolwork; a therapist supports emotional health. NeuroFunction is focused specifically on the executive-function and self-regulation skills an ADHD brain finds hardest, getting started, organizing, managing time and transitions, and handling big feelings. It complements therapy and tutoring rather than replacing them.

Will this replace my child's medication?

No. NeuroFunction works alongside your child's existing medical care. Medication can help the underlying neurochemistry; this program builds the practical skills that medication alone cannot teach. Any decisions about medication remain between you and your child's prescriber.

What if my child won't engage or is resistant?

That is common, and it is something we are experienced with. The program meets children where they are, using a warm, collaborative, age-appropriate approach that builds trust before pushing skills. Many kids who start out reluctant become genuinely invested once they feel understood rather than corrected.

Is the whole program done by telemedicine?

Yes. All sessions are delivered by secure, HIPAA-compliant telemedicine, so your child can take part from the comfort of home. Dr. Joanne is currently licensed in Maryland, Washington D.C., Nevada, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Does this provide school accommodations or testing?

No. NeuroFunction is a skills program, not an evaluation. If you need formal ADHD testing or documentation for an IEP, 504 plan, or exam accommodations, that requires a separate evaluation by a licensed psychologist. We are glad to provide referrals.

Program eligibility: The NeuroFunction ADHD Skills Training program for kids and teens is intended for children and adolescents with a confirmed or suspected ADHD diagnosis, with parent or guardian involvement. It is a complement to, not a replacement for, your child's medical or psychiatric care.

This program does not provide academic accommodations or formal educational testing. If you are seeking ADHD testing or documentation for school accommodations (IEP, 504, standardized exams), a full evaluation by a licensed psychologist is required. We are happy to provide referrals within our clinical network.

All sessions are delivered via HIPAA-compliant telemedicine. Dr. Joanne is currently licensed to practice in Maryland, Washington D.C., Nevada, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

    Your child's brain isn't broken.
It just needs the right tools.

Book a consultation and take the next step toward a calmer home and a child who finally has tools that work with their brain, not against it.
